Why we're doing this

There's a gap nobody
warns you about.

You finish your degree smart and keen and ready to help people. Then your first complex shoulder walks in and you realise university gave you a map — but not the ability to read the terrain in front of you.

That's not a failure. It's just a gap. Every physio you've ever respected has stood on the same side of it at some point. We certainly did.

Evolutio was built in 2013 because we believed healthcare didn't need to be sterile, corporate, or impersonal. This mentoring program exists for the same reason. We're not interested in generic CPD content or slide decks that could apply to anyone. We want to sit down with you, work through real cases, and help you become the kind of physio your patients are genuinely lucky to have found. Learn more about us.

Alex Drew, Founder and Director at Evolutio Sports Physio Richmond — physiotherapy mentor

Alex Drew, Founder

What university doesn't prepare you for

When I started as a physio, I found it genuinely hard to connect what I'd learned at university with what I was seeing in front of me. Things like primary and secondary shoulder impingement made perfect sense on paper — but in the clinic, every shoulder was different. Different issues, different previous histories, different training loads. The textbook categories barely scratched the surface of what was actually going on.

It wasn't until I started to really dissect what I was seeing — to properly work through how a person's presentation translated to their pain, and then what that meant for their recovery — that I started actually improving as a clinician. Not just accumulating hours, but genuinely getting better.

That process of learning to see — to connect the clinical picture to the person in front of you — is the thing nobody really teaches you. It's also the thing this mentoring program is built around. We want to shortcut that gap for you, because working it out alone takes years you don't need to waste.

Small Group Sessions

$175

per person, per session

A small group (we keep it at 4 to 8 people so everyone actually gets something out of it), two hours, and multiple cases worked through together. These run entirely online so it doesn't matter where in Australia you are. Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, regional wherever — if you've got a decent internet connection, you're in. Bring your own cases to discuss, or work through ours. Either way, you'll leave with something you can use the next day.

$350

per session (90 minutes) with Alex Drew

Alex isn't treating patients anymore, but he's built two clinics from the ground up and made every mistake worth learning from. Not a coaching script. Just the real stuff.

6-Month Mentoring Block

$1,750

per person — saves you around $300

For physios who want to actually commit to getting better over six months rather than just ticking CPD boxes. We give you a certificate at the end, but the real thing you take away is harder to put on paper.

The most personal thing we offer

Clinical
Immersion Day

One or two of you. Come to the clinic, work through real cases together, watch how we assess and think, ask every question you've been too nervous to ask in a group setting. We keep it to a maximum of two people deliberately — it's the only way to make sure you actually get what you came for. We don't run these on a fixed schedule; we run them when you're ready and motivated. If that's you, reach out and we'll make it happen.

$395 per person · one or two people per session

Bayden Campbell

Weekday sessions in Richmond

Complex injuries, biomechanics and clinical reasoning. Available Monday to Friday at the clinic.

Phill Danzi

Saturday morning sessions in Richmond

The mentors

Real people.
Real experience.

No hired educators. No corporate training programs. Just three physios who've spent years in the trenches and genuinely want to help the next generation get there faster. Meet the full Evolutio team.

Alex Drew, physiotherapy mentor and Founder of Evolutio Sports Physio Richmond

Alex Drew

Founder and Director, Evolutio and Ciclo

Alex started Evolutio in 2013 because he was frustrated by clinics that felt like waiting rooms. He wanted a place where practitioners could genuinely love the work and athletes could feel like someone actually understood their training. He's worked with North Melbourne Football Club, trained as a CrossFit and powerlifting coach, completed a Master of Human Rights with Distinction, and co-founded Ciclo in 2025. These days he focuses on leading both clinics and mentoring the next generation of people who want to build something worth building.

Bayden Campbell, Senior Physiotherapist at Evolutio Sports Physio Richmond

Bayden Campbell

Senior Physiotherapist

Bayden is the person you call when a case genuinely doesn't make sense. He joined Evolutio as co-clinic director in 2020 and has quietly become one of the most respected clinical minds we've seen walk through the door. His speciality is taking complex, messy presentations and finding the thread that makes them coherent. For early-career physios, learning to do that — to stay calm with complexity and think your way through it — is maybe the most important skill there is. Bayden is very good at teaching it.

Phill Danzi, Senior Physiotherapist at Evolutio Sports Physio — specialist in Olympic lifting and CrossFit rehabilitation

Phill Danzi

Senior Physiotherapist

You don't become one of Australia's go-to physios for Olympic lifting and CrossFit athletes by accident. Phill has built that reputation over years of treating people that most clinics don't really understand, in a sport that punishes anyone who gets the load management wrong. He joined Evolutio as co-clinic director in 2020 and brings the same obsessive attention to detail into his mentoring. If you work with strength athletes, want to, or just want to understand how elite bodies are managed under load, Phill is your person.

What to expect

No slide decks.
No generic content.

1

Get in touch

Tell us where you're at, what you're finding hard, and what kind of format suits you. We'll be straight with you about which program makes the most sense.

2

Show up with your real cases

Bring the patient you've been lying awake thinking about. The presentation that doesn't fit anything you learned. That's the stuff that makes these sessions worth your time.

3

Work through it together

We'll reason through it out loud. You'll see how we think, not just what we conclude. The goal is that you leave knowing how to approach the next one yourself.

4

Notice the difference

Clinical confidence isn't something you switch on. It builds. Come back month after month and after six months you'll be a materially different practitioner. That's the whole point.

Group sessions run entirely online so physios anywhere in Australia can join. 1:1 mentoring and immersion days happen at the clinic in Richmond.

Face-to-face in Richmond

Questions

The things
people ask first.

Who is this actually for?

Primarily new graduates in their first one to three years, and early-career physios within their first five who want to get sharper in sports physiotherapy. But if you're more experienced and just want to level up in a specific area, that's fine too. We'll be honest with you if we don't think we're the right fit.

Is this supervision or mentoring?

Mentoring. We're not overseeing your clinical practice or signing off on your work. We're sharing how we think, helping you work through cases, and supporting your development as a practitioner. It sits alongside whatever supervision arrangements you already have, not instead of them. If you're unsure about the distinction, AHPRA's guidelines cover this clearly.

Can I claim this as CPD?

Yes. Sessions are structured, documentable, and count toward your CPD requirements. The 6-month block includes a certificate of completion. Check the APA's CPD guidelines for your specific category requirements, but you'll be fine.

Can I bring my own cases?

Please do. That's the whole point. De-identified cases from your real caseload make every session sharper and more useful. If you've got a patient you've been stuck on for two weeks, bring them to the group. That's exactly the kind of problem we want to work through together.

How do I know which mentor to work with?

When you get in touch, tell us what you're working on and what you want to get better at. We'll point you in the right direction. Shoulder and complex cases, or business and clinic building, Alex. Biomechanics and figuring out what's actually going on, Bayden. Strength sport, Olympic lifting, high-performance, Phill. Group sessions often have two of us in the room together, which is genuinely useful.

What's the deal with the immersion days?

They run when you're ready — not on a set schedule, and with a maximum of two people per session. You can come on your own or bring a colleague. Bayden does weekday sessions at the clinic. Phill does Saturday mornings. One or two of you, one of them, a half-day at Evolutio. It's the most personal thing we offer and the sessions people tend to remember longest.

Ready to stop figuring
it out alone?

Get in touch and tell us where you're at. We'll be honest about which program makes sense and what we think will actually help.
