Careers · Evolutio Sports Physio Richmond

Not your average physio job.

We're always open to hearing from practitioners who don't fit regular clinics with white walls, sterile waiting rooms, and treating three patients at once. Right now, we're actively hiring. If that's you, keep reading.

Now Actively Hiring

We're expanding the team.

We're growing our allied health offering and bringing on the practitioners to match. Our priority right now is an employed, part-time Clinic Manager to keep the place running — alongside four clinical roles on a percentage-of-billings basis. If you're excellent at what you do, read on.

Employed · Part-time

Clinic Manager

The operational backbone of the clinic. You'll keep the day-to-day running smoothly — billing across WorkSafe, TAC, DVA and EPC plans, managing the inbox and WhatsApp, following up cancellations, confirming bike-fit appointments, coordinating our S&C programming partner, and keeping the clinic itself in good order.

Pay & hours
Award rate (from) $33.78/hr
Hours per week ~20
Level 8, Pay Point 1 award rate to start, plus superannuation and leave entitlements. Set schedule: Monday afternoons, Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings.
  • Strong administration and organisation — you keep systems tidy and tasks ticked off
  • Confident with medical billing; allied health experience (HICAPS, WorkSafe, TAC, DVA, EPC) a strong advantage
  • Comfortable on the phone with patients, case managers and referring GPs
  • Good with software — practice management and invoicing tools
  • Reliable, discreet and able to work independently across the set days

Subcontractor

Senior Physiotherapist

An experienced, sports and musculoskeletal-focused physiotherapist to join the team and build or bring a caseload to our Richmond clinic. You'll operate as a subcontractor with full clinical autonomy — no templates, no treatment quotas, no one looking over your shoulder.

Approved fee schedule (post team review)
Initial Consultation $235
Follow-up $140
Fee schedule is confirmed following a team review. Subcontractor percentage and superannuation are agreed upon by both parties and vary depending on your experience and the caseload you bring.
  • 5+ years clinical experience; sports or MSK focus strongly preferred
  • Current AHPRA registration; APA membership preferred
  • An existing patient base or clear, realistic plan to build one
  • Sub-specialties in running, cycling, CrossFit, ACL or powerlifting are a strong advantage
  • Comfortable operating with genuine clinical independence
  • You train — you understand movement from the inside
Express interest
Subcontractor · Experienced only

Remedial Massage Therapist

An experienced RMT with an established caseload, looking to operate from a premium clinical environment alongside a physio team. This isn't a day spa setup — it's a sports and musculoskeletal clinic, and we want someone who's at home in that context.

You bring your clients and your expertise. We provide the space, equipment, and a clinic environment worth working in.

  • Diploma or higher in Remedial Massage (HLT52021 or equivalent)
  • Established patient base — you are not starting from zero
  • Sports and deep tissue focus; comfortable in a clinical setting
  • Cupping or dry needling qualifications are a strong advantage
  • Private health fund provider registration preferred
  • Own professional indemnity and public liability insurance
Express interest
Subcontractor · Part-time

Exercise Physiologist

An ESSA-accredited Exercise Physiologist to work alongside our physio team in a gym-based clinical environment. You'll take referrals for chronic condition management, post-surgical rehab and sports performance programming, with full use of our 80m² rehab gym and VALD testing equipment.

A part-time subcontractor arrangement paid as a percentage of billings — build your caseload around days that suit you.

  • Current ESSA accreditation and Medicare provider number
  • Experience with chronic disease, post-op rehab or athletic development
  • Comfortable prescribing and progressing gym-based programs
  • Own professional indemnity and public liability insurance
  • Interest in working within a physio-led sports clinic
Express interest
Subcontractor · Part-time

Podiatrist

A musculoskeletal or sports-focused Podiatrist to add lower-limb and foot expertise to the team. Running injuries, biomechanical assessment, orthotic prescription and load-related foot and ankle presentations are all a natural fit for our caseload.

Part-time subcontractor arrangement paid as a percentage of billings, with immediate access to a warm referral base of active patients.

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Podiatrist
  • Sports or MSK focus; gait and running assessment experience preferred
  • Confident with orthotic prescription and return-to-sport planning
  • Private health fund provider registration preferred
  • Own professional indemnity and public liability insurance
Express interest
Subcontractor · Part-time

Sports & Exercise Physician

A Sports Doctor to consult from the clinic and give our patients direct access to medical assessment, diagnostic imaging referral, injection therapy and management of complex injuries — working hand-in-hand with the physio team rather than at arm's length.

Part-time subcontractor arrangement paid as a percentage of billings. Sessions structured around your availability.

  • Current AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner
  • ACSEP fellowship or genuine sports and exercise medicine focus
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within an allied health team
  • Interest in an active, sports-focused patient population
  • Own professional indemnity insurance
Express interest
How it works

The four clinical roles (Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist, Podiatrist and Sports Doctor) are subcontractor arrangements — you're paid a percentage of your billings, with the percentage and superannuation agreed upon by both parties depending on your experience and the caseload you bring. The Remedial Massage and Clinic Manager roles are described in their own cards above. Send your CV and a short note to Bayden and Alex — we'll get back to you if we think there's something worth talking about. If you're looking for treatment room hire rather than joining the team, that's a separate arrangement — see our treatment room hire page.

The Short Version

We hire for people, not positions.

Beyond the two active roles above, we're always open to hearing from exceptional practitioners. We don't hire to fill a seat — we hire when we meet someone who's genuinely excellent at what they do, fits the culture, and makes the team better.

If you're a physiotherapist, exercise physiologist, or remedial massage therapist who trains hard, thinks independently, and is tired of being told how to treat patients — send us a note. We'll catch up for a coffee with Phill and Alex if we think there might be something there.

Who We Hear From

Practitioners we're always interested in.

Beyond the roles we're actively hiring for above, we're genuinely interested in excellent people across these areas. Subcontractor and employed arrangements are both considered.

Most common enquiry

Physiotherapist

Sports and MSK focus preferred. Sub-specialties in running, cycling, CrossFit, ACL rehab or powerlifting are a strong advantage. Registered with AHPRA and ideally an APA member. Both new graduates and experienced physios considered depending on fit.

Specialist role

Remedial Massage Therapist

Qualified and experienced in sports and deep tissue work. Cupping and dry needling qualifications are a plus. Comfortable working within a physiotherapy-led clinical environment rather than a standalone day spa.

Admin & reception

Clinic Admin

Warm, organised front-desk and administrative support people who can hold a busy reception together, handle bookings and billing, and make patients feel looked after from the moment they walk in.

We also periodically work with subcontractors looking for treatment room hire in Richmond. If that's what you're after, see our treatment room hire page for details.

Why Evolutio

What's actually different here.

Not a list of ping-pong tables. These are the things practitioners who've joined us say actually matter after six months.

01

You own your clinical approach

No treatment templates. No tick-box protocols. You assess the person in front of you and treat them accordingly. The only expectation is that you're genuinely good at it and can back your reasoning.

02

A space worth working in

Three levels, a fully kitted clinic gym, real treatment rooms, and a waiting area with a reclaimed wood table and actual plants. The clinic was built specifically because Alex couldn't stand working in sterile, beige medical spaces.

03

An established, quality patient base

Over 7,200 patients since 2013. Athletes from recreational to national level. Not a high-volume, high-churn model — patients here tend to stay, refer, and come back. The kind of cases that are genuinely interesting to treat.

04

A team that pushes you

You'll work alongside Bayden, Phill, Shirouz, Kelsi, Sam and Mary Ann. People who train, think, and care about getting better at what they do.

05

Interesting clinical work

Sub-specialties in running, cycling, CrossFit, ACL rehabilitation, and powerlifting. Partner work with Ciclo Melbourne and HomeRun Melbourne.

06

CPD that actually matters

In-house case discussions, external courses, and a genuine expectation that you'll keep learning. APA and Sports Medicine Australia memberships supported where applicable.

Are You a Fit

Be honest with yourself.

We've been pretty open about what we are. This section is about whether you're the right kind of person for it.

✓ Probably a good fit if

  • You train. Not necessarily competitively, but movement is part of your life and you understand it from the inside.
  • You're genuinely curious about your patients and find yourself thinking about cases outside work hours.
  • You have strong opinions about clinical practice and can back them up, but you're not rigid about them.
  • You feel slightly suffocated by the constraints of most clinic models and want more autonomy over how you work.
  • You want to get better at your craft and are willing to do the work to make that happen.
  • You're comfortable in a clinic that doesn't look or feel like a medical centre. The neon sign and the art are features, not bugs.

× Probably not the right fit if

  • You want a high-volume, low-complexity caseload and prefer to stick to a structured protocol.
  • You're looking for a large corporate employer with formal HR infrastructure and a defined career ladder.
  • You're not comfortable with the level of clinical responsibility that comes with genuine autonomy.
  • You prefer a fully predictable schedule with no variation from week to week.
  • You're primarily motivated by maximising session volume rather than the quality of individual patient outcomes.

Common Questions

Things practitioners usually ask us.

Do you have any roles open right now?

Yes — our priority right now is a part-time Clinic Manager (an employed role). We're also actively hiring an Exercise Physiologist, a Podiatrist and a Sports Doctor, all part-time subcontractor arrangements paid as a percentage of billings, and we're keen to hear from an experienced Remedial Massage Therapist. Details for each are at the top of this page.

Is it an employed role or subcontractor arrangement?

It depends on the role. The clinical roles — Exercise Physiologist, Podiatrist and Sports Doctor — are subcontractor arrangements paid as a percentage of billings, with the percentage and superannuation agreed upon by both parties based on your experience and caseload. The Clinic Manager is an employed part-time position on an award wage plus superannuation and leave entitlements. Note that subcontracting to join the team is separate from our treatment room hire offering, which is for practitioners not joining the team.

What are the Clinic Manager hours and pay?

The Clinic Manager role is approximately 20 hours a week across a set schedule — Monday afternoons, Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings. Pay starts at the Level 8, Pay Point 1 award rate of $33.78 per hour, plus superannuation and leave entitlements. The role covers billing across WorkSafe, TAC, DVA and EPC plans, inbox and WhatsApp management, cancellation follow-ups, confirming bike-fit appointments and keeping the clinic running day to day.

Do you hire new graduates?

Occasionally, depending on the person. We're not a clinic that runs a graduate program, so new graduates need to be especially clear about why Evolutio specifically, and what they bring. Experienced practitioners are usually a better fit, but we've made exceptions for the right people.

What are the hours like?

The clinic runs Monday to Thursday 8am–7:30pm, Friday 8am–6pm, and Saturday 8am–1pm. Specific hours are arranged individually and depend on the role. We care more about the quality of the work than whether you start at 8am or 9am.

What's the patient demographic like?

Mostly active adults ranging from recreational exercisers to competitive athletes. Running injuries, CrossFit, cycling, ACL rehabilitation, powerlifting, team sports, and a strong general MSK caseload. We also see NDIS participants and have DVA, WorkCover, and TAC patients. See our services page for a full breakdown.

Can I come and see the clinic before applying?

The best way to get a feel for the clinic is to come in as a patient for an initial assessment — you'll see exactly how we work, meet the team, and experience the environment firsthand. Otherwise, reach out and we can discuss organising a visit.

How to Reach Out

Keep it simple.

Send your CV and a short cover letter addressed to Bayden and Alex. Tell us who you are, what you do, and why you think Evolutio might be a good fit. No set format. We read every email personally.
