Evolutio Sports Physio Richmond clinic entrance

Careers · Evolutio Sports Physio Richmond

Not your average
physio job.

We're always open to hearing from practitioners who don't fit regular clinics with white walls, sterile waiting rooms, and treating three patients at once. If that's you, keep reading.

Send us your CV About the clinic

The Short Version

We hire for people, not positions.

There's no formal job listing here. We don't hire to fill a seat. We hire when we meet someone who's genuinely excellent at what they do, fits the culture, and makes the team better.

If you're a physiotherapist, exercise physiologist, or remedial massage therapist who trains hard, thinks independently, and is tired of being told how to treat patients by a clinic that's never watched you work — send us a note. We'll catch up for a coffee with Phill and Alex if we think there might be something there.

No pressure. No timelines. Just a conversation.

Who We Hear From

Practitioners we're always interested in.

We're a multi-disciplinary team. No specific role is always open, but we're genuinely interested in excellent people across these areas. Subcontractor and employed arrangements are both considered.

Most common enquiry

Physiotherapist

Sports and musculoskeletal focus preferred. Sub-specialties in running, cycling, CrossFit, ACL rehab or powerlifting are a strong advantage. Registered with AHPRA and ideally an APA member. Both new graduates and experienced physios considered depending on fit.

Growing area

Exercise Physiologist

Accredited with ESSA. Experience with chronic conditions, post-surgical rehab, or sports performance programming. Interest in working alongside a physio team in a gym-based environment.

Specialist role

Remedial Massage Therapist

Qualified and experienced in sports and deep tissue work. Cupping and dry needling qualifications are a plus. Comfortable working within a physiotherapy-led clinical environment rather than a standalone day spa.

We also periodically work with subcontractors looking for treatment room hire in Richmond. If that's what you're after, see our treatment room hire page for details.

Why Evolutio

What's actually different here.

Not a list of ping-pong tables and free coffee. These are the things practitioners who've joined us say actually matter to them after six months.

  • 01

    You own your clinical approach

No treatment templates. No tick-box protocols. You assess the person in front of you and treat them accordingly. The only expectation is that you're genuinely good at it and can back your reasoning. We hired you because we trust your judgement.

  • 02

    A space worth working in

Three levels, a fully kitted clinic gym, real treatment rooms, and a waiting area with a reclaimed wood table and actual plants. The clinic was built specifically because Alex couldn't stand working in sterile, beige medical spaces. That philosophy runs through everything.

  • 03

    An established, quality patient base

Over 7,200 patients since 2013. Athletes from recreational to national level. The kind of cases that are genuinely interesting to treat. Not a high-volume, high-churn model — patients here tend to stay, refer, and come back.

  • 04

    A team that pushes you

You'll work alongside Bayden, Phill, Shirouz, Kelsi, Sam and Mary Ann. People who train, think, and care about getting better at what they do. There's a culture of genuine inquiry here, not just clocking in and out.

  • 05

    Interesting clinical work

Sub-specialties in running, cycling, CrossFit, ACL rehabilitation, powerlifting and more. Partner work with Ciclo Melbourne and HomeRun Melbourne means exposure to specialist cycling and running caseloads that you won't find at a general practice clinic.

  • 06

    CPD that actually matters

We support continuing professional development for all team members. In-house case discussions, external courses, and a genuine expectation that you'll keep learning. Both APA and Sports Medicine Australia memberships supported where applicable.

Are You a Fit

Be honest with yourself.

We've been pretty open about what we are. This section is about whether you're the right kind of person for it. We'd rather you work this out before reaching out than after.

You're probably a good fit if

  • ✓You train. Not necessarily competitively, but movement is part of your life and you understand it from the inside.
  • ✓You're genuinely curious about your patients and find yourself thinking about cases outside work hours.
  • ✓You have strong opinions about clinical practice and can back them up, but you're not rigid about them.
  • ✓You feel slightly suffocated by the constraints of most clinic models and want more autonomy over how you work.
  • ✓You want to get better at your craft and are willing to do the work to make that happen.
  • ✓You're comfortable in a clinic that doesn't look or feel like a medical centre. The neon sign and the art are features, not bugs.

It's probably not the right fit if

  • ✗You want a high-volume, low-complexity caseload and prefer to stick to a structured protocol.
  • ✗You're looking for a large corporate employer with formal HR infrastructure and a defined career ladder.
  • ✗You're not comfortable with the level of clinical responsibility that comes with genuine autonomy.
  • ✗You prefer a fully predictable schedule with no variation from week to week.
  • ✗You're primarily motivated by maximising session volume rather than the quality of individual patient outcomes.

How to Reach Out

Keep it simple.

No formal application portal. No three-stage process. Send us something that tells us who you are, what you do, and why you think Evolutio might be a good fit for both of us.

Send to Phill and Alex

Email us at
info@evolutio.com.au

Include your CV, a short cover letter addressed to Phill and Alex, and anything else that gives us a sense of who you are as a practitioner. No set format. If we think there might be something there, we'll be in touch to organise a coffee and a chat at the clinic.

Common Questions

Things practitioners usually ask us.

Do you have any roles open right now?
Not necessarily — but we're always interested in excellent practitioners regardless of whether there's a formal vacancy. If you're the right person, we'll find a way to make it work. Send your CV and we'll go from there.
Do you hire new graduates?
Occasionally, depending on the person. We're not a clinic that runs a graduate program, so new graduates need to be especially clear about why Evolutio specifically, and what they bring. If you're a new grad with a strong sense of who you are as a practitioner and a clear clinical interest, reach out. The honest answer is that experienced practitioners are usually a better fit, but we've made exceptions for the right people.
Is it an employed role or subcontractor arrangement?
We consider both. Employed arrangements, subcontractor roles, and treatment room hire are all options depending on what suits the practitioner and what makes sense for the clinic. Our treatment room hire page has more detail if that's what you're looking for.
What are the hours like?
The clinic runs Monday to Thursday 8am to 7:30pm, Friday 8am to 6pm, and Saturday 8am to 1pm. Specific hours are arranged individually and depend on the role. We're not prescriptive about it — we care more about the quality of the work than whether you start at 8am or 9am.
Do you provide mentorship or supervision?
Yes, in the sense that you're working alongside experienced clinicians and case discussion is part of the culture. We don't run a formal supervision program in the traditional sense. You'll be expected to work with clinical independence, but you'll never be doing it in isolation.
What's the patient demographic like?
Mostly active adults ranging from recreational exercisers to competitive athletes. Running injuries, CrossFit, cycling, ACL rehabilitation, powerlifting, team sports, and a strong general musculoskeletal caseload. We also see NDIS participants and have DVA, WorkCover, and TAC patients. See our services page for a full breakdown.
Is AHPRA registration required?
Yes, for physiotherapy roles. AHPRA registration is non-negotiable. We'd also encourage APA membership, though it's not a hard requirement. Exercise physiology roles require ESSA accreditation.
Can I come and see the clinic before applying?
The best way to get a feel for the clinic is to come in as a patient for an initial assessment — that's genuinely the most useful thing you can do. You'll see exactly how we work, meet the team, and experience the environment firsthand. Otherwise, reach out and we can discuss organising a visit.
