About Us
We live and train here too.
Evolutio started in Richmond in 2013 because our founder Alex Drew wanted to build the kind of clinic he'd actually want to go to himself — honest, expert, and firmly planted in the local community. Not a franchise. Not a volume clinic. A place where the physio you see on Monday is still your physio in six months.
We're at 11/3 Bromham Place — a short walk from Bridge Road, in a converted warehouse space that feels more like a Richmond café than a clinic. We know the Yarra River trails you run. We know the boxes you train at. We know what a long week at a desk does to a body that wants to train on Saturday morning.
That context is what makes the difference between a generic treatment plan and one that actually works for your life.

Why Choose Us
Six reasons Richmond locals keep coming back.
There are other physio clinics near Richmond. Here's what makes us genuinely different — not just what we say about ourselves.
You See the Same Physio Every Time
No handoffs to juniors. No starting over. Your physio knows your history, your training schedule, and your goals. Continuity is fundamental to how we work — not a premium add-on.
45-Minute Initial Assessments
We actually take the time to understand your problem. Movement analysis, strength testing, lifestyle factors, training demands. You'll leave knowing exactly what's wrong and what we're doing about it.
We Treat the Cause, Not Just the Pain
Your back hurts because of something. Your shoulder keeps flaring up because of something. Finding and fixing that something — rather than just treating the symptom each visit — is what we spend our days doing.
We Keep You Moving
Rest is rarely the answer. We modify what you're doing rather than stopping you entirely — building your recovery around your training, your lifestyle, your commitments. Outcomes are better when people stay active.
Honest Timelines and Direct Communication
We'll tell you how long your recovery will take — realistically. We'll explain why. We send session summaries, use WhatsApp for quick questions, and don't keep you guessing about your own body.
The Green Loyalty Program
Walk, run, ride, or skate to your appointments and collect stamps toward free sessions. It's our way of rewarding Richmond's eco-conscious community for sustainable commuting — and it's been running since 2016.

No referral needed for standard physiotherapy. Book directly online or call us on 03 9100 3798. A GP referral is only required for WorkCover, TAC, or Medicare EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) plans. The Australian Physiotherapy Association recognises physiotherapists as primary care practitioners for musculoskeletal conditions.
A few things: 45-minute initial assessments (not 20 minutes), the same physio every single session, a deep focus on finding underlying causes rather than just treating symptoms, and a team that actually trains and understands the demands of Richmond's active community. We're also not a franchise or a high-volume model — every patient gets real attention.
Comfortable clothing you can move in. Private health card if claiming (we process HICAPS on the spot). Any scans or reports from your GP or specialist. If relevant — your Strava data, training diary, or a note about your typical weekly schedule. The more context you give us about your life, the better our assessment will be. See our first visit guide for everything.
Yes. We're open from 8:00am Monday through Saturday, with evening appointments available until 7:30pm Monday–Thursday and 6:00pm on Fridays. Saturday runs until 1:00pm. We've built our hours around Richmond's professional community — people who need appointments that don't require taking time off work.
We process all major private health funds instantly via HICAPS — you pay only the gap on the day. We also accept WorkSafe Victoria, TAC, DVA, NDIS, and Medicare EPC plans. See our pricing page for full details. No surprises.
Yes — and this is something we take seriously. Most injuries have warning signs weeks before they become real problems. Movement screening, load management advice, and targeted strengthening can prevent most overuse injuries before they sideline you. If you're a runner, cyclist, or CrossFitter who wants to stay healthy through a big training block, come in when things feel off — not just when they break down. Try our injury risk quiz.
Yes. Free 2–4 hour street parking is available on Bromham Place and surrounding streets — typically easy to find. Most appointments run 30–45 minutes, comfortably within the parking limit. We're also a 2-minute walk from Richmond Station and on multiple tram routes, so we'd always encourage public transport or bike when possible (it counts toward your green loyalty stamps).
