Our Commitment

We're built differently.
Here's what that actually means.

Since Alex founded Evolutio in 2013 in a 3-level converted warehouse in Richmond, the entire operation has been built around one idea: treat people the way you'd want to be treated yourself. That's not marketing — it's a list of things we do and things we refuse to do.

We will always

  • Spend a full 45 minutes on your initial assessment (industry standard is 30)
  • Give you the same physiotherapist from start to finish — no re-explaining your story
  • Send a detailed email within 48 hours of your first visit: diagnosis, plan, video exercises, timeline
  • Give you honest timelines — not what you want to hear, but what the evidence says
  • Process your health fund claim on the spot via HICAPS — no paperwork, no waiting
  • Tell you when you need someone else — a surgeon, sports doctor, or specialist — and help you get there
  • Treat you as an individual with goals, not a diagnosis with a number
  • Use VALD testing equipment to measure your progress objectively, not just anecdotally

We will never

  • Rush a 15-minute appointment under the guise of "efficiency"
  • Pass you between three different practitioners who don't know your history
  • Promise a recovery timeline that makes you feel good but sets you up for disappointment
  • Hand you a photocopied exercise sheet from 2009
  • Force you into booking a package upfront before you've seen if we're the right fit
  • Leave you wondering what happens next after your session
  • Operate like a production line — high volume, low depth

Session Fees 2026

No hidden fees.
No surprises.

All sessions include hands-on treatment — not just exercise instruction. Our 45-minute initial appointments reflect what a proper assessment actually requires. That's 15 minutes longer than the industry standard, and the difference shows in outcomes.

Key finding

Patients who complete their home exercise programs see an 85% success rate — compared to 52% for those who don't. The best investment in your recovery is the 10 minutes you put in at home every day. We'll make sure you actually know how to do it.

Sport-Specific Results

We speak your sport.

Generic physiotherapy data doesn't help a marathoner or a CrossFit athlete understand what their recovery looks like. So we break it down by sport.

How We Measure

Honest numbers require honest methods.

We use validated, globally-recognised outcome tools — not arbitrary in-house metrics — so our data means something.

VALD Testing Equipment

Objective, hardware-based measurement at baseline and at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months for long-term rehab cases.

  • ForceFrame — full-body force measurement
  • NordBord — hamstring strength testing
  • DynaMo — isometric strength assessment
  • Used as standard for all ACL and post-surgical rehabilitation

Validated Outcome Scales

  • NPRS (Numeric Pain Rating Scale) — 0–10 pain measurement at each visit
  • PSFS (Patient-Specific Functional Scale) — your individual goals, tracked across sessions
  • GRoC (Global Rating of Change) — overall improvement on discharge
  • VISA-A (Achilles), KOOS (knee), DASH (shoulder), and other sport-specific tools

Movement Analysis

Video gait analysis for runners, movement quality screening, and documented before/after comparisons at initial assessment, midpoint, and discharge.

Progress Review Schedule

  • Weeks 2–3: Initial progress check
  • Weeks 4–6: Mid-treatment reassessment
  • Week 8+: Discharge planning or program adjustment
  • If you're not improving as expected, we change approach — or refer you to someone who can help more

Data Sources & Update Cycle

All data comes from de-identified patient records (7,300+ patients since 2013). Current reporting period: January–December 2025. Updated quarterly — January, April, July, October. Annual methodology audit by an external physiotherapy consultant.

Clinical oversight: Alex Drew, Founder & Physiotherapist, Evolutio Sports Physio Richmond. Registered with: AHPRA, Australian Physiotherapy Association, Sports Medicine Australia.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions everyone actually has.

Real questions, real answers. No vague "it depends" non-answers. If we can give you a number or a fact, we will.

At Evolutio, a Senior Physiotherapist initial consultation (45 min) is $235, and a standard Physiotherapist initial consultation is $185. Follow-ups are $140 (Senior, 30 min) or $130 (Physiotherapist, 30 min). Extended follow-ups are $235 or $185 respectively. Remedial massage ranges from $120–$185. With private health extras cover, your out-of-pocket is significantly reduced — claimed on the spot via HICAPS. See the full pricing page for detail.
Medicare does not cover standard physiotherapy appointments. However, if you have a chronic condition, your GP can refer you under an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan for up to 5 subsidised sessions per calendar year. The Medicare rebate is $59.90 per session. Ask your GP if your condition qualifies.
No. You can book directly without a referral for standard appointments. You only need a GP referral if you want Medicare rebates under a Chronic Disease Management plan, or if claiming through WorkCover or certain insurance schemes.
At Evolutio, WorkCover patients pay a gap of $41.76 for the initial consultation and $48.40 for follow-up sessions. This gap exists because WorkCover rates don't cover our extended 45-minute initial assessments and 30-minute follow-ups. You'll need a claim number and case manager details to book.
TAC patients at Evolutio pay a gap of $86.13 for the initial assessment and $47.29 for follow-up sessions. Alternatively, you can pay the full amount and self-claim through TAC. You'll need your TAC claim number at booking.
Depends entirely on your condition: Acute injuries (rolled ankle): 2–4 sessions. Common sports injuries (runner's knee, shin splints): 6–8 sessions. Chronic issues (long-term back pain): 10–16 sessions. Post-surgical rehab (ACL): 20–30 sessions over 10–12 months. We give you an honest estimate at your first appointment.
Yes. Same physiotherapist from start to finish — no re-explaining your history, no starting from scratch. Your physio gets to know your body, your goals, and how you respond to treatment. For members, you can also WhatsApp your specific physio between appointments during business hours.
Our initial assessments are 45 minutes — the industry standard is 30. You see the same physiotherapist every time. You receive a detailed email with diagnosis, plan, video exercises, and recovery timeline within 48 hours of your first visit. We use VALD equipment for objective measurement. You're not paying more for the same thing — you're paying for more of the right things.
Usually within 2–3 days for routine bookings. We hold same-day or next-day spots for acute injuries. Book online 24/7 to see real-time availability, or call us on 03 9100 3798 if you need something urgently. Opening hours: Mon–Thu 8am–7:30pm, Fri 8am–6pm, Sat 8am–1pm.
Yes. We offer a 5% discount when you book a 5-session package upfront. Payment plans are available for longer treatment courses — we can spread costs across pay cycles. And our Green Card loyalty initiative gives you a free session (valued at $125) for every 10 visits made by active transport (cycling, walking, running). Contact us to discuss what works for your situation.
We reassess progress every 2–3 sessions. If you're not improving as expected, we modify the treatment approach, consider whether imaging is needed, and refer you to sports doctors, specialists, or orthopaedic surgeons if required. We work closely with Melbourne Shoulder and Knee Surgeons and Olympic Park Sports Medicine for complex cases. Sometimes physio isn't the right tool — we'll tell you that honestly.
We're at 11/3 Bromham Place, Richmond VIC 3121 — a 3-level converted warehouse in Richmond's most interesting pocket. Train: Richmond Station (8-min walk). Tram: Multiple routes along Swan Street and Bridge Road. Car: Three free parks in front of the clinic plus free street parking. Bike: Secure bike parking available (we love cyclists). Travel time from Melbourne CBD: ~15 minutes.
